It’s official, as of August 9th all 10,349 of our members are the proud owners of brand-new GigMasters Profiles. Sure, your Profile looks just like it did yesterday when it was called a Press Kit, but it now has a distinct advantage: there’s not a potential customer out there who’s not familiar with the term ‘Profile .’
We’ve already told you the thinking behind the new lingo, but since we have Profiles on the brain, we thought it would be a good time to hip you to a few useful Profile tips to make sure you’re ready for an influx of attention from potential clients!
This is one of the first things we ask you for when you sign up for a GigMasters membership. But with all the attention that gets paid to photos, audio and video, the description can often get lost in the shuffle. Don’t let that happen! We suggest going through your description every so often to make sure it’s current and truly reflects who you are and what services you offer.
You get up to 5,000 characters so don’t be shy. And for goodness sake, please don’t use ALL CAPS! It can be hard to read and, frankly, it makes you look a little crazy.

Whether you are a variety act, musician, vendor or dancer, your potential clients want to get a look at you. They aren’t necessarily looking to see if you’re a beauty queen, they just want to picture you at their event. Take the time to upload a gallery of quality photos. And remember to keep the photos on topic. Clients aren’t looking for pictures from your last vacation. They wan’t to see you in action at an event.

Musicians, listen up: It is absolutely essential that you get some good audio samples on your Profile. We can’t stress this one enough. Your clients NEED to hear what you sound like. You just aren’t going to get hired until a client can hear you play. If possible, try to upload some high quality examples of your work.

If we’ve said it once we’ve said it a thousand times: members with video on their profiles are four times as likely to get booked as those who do not. It’s this simple: everyone on GigMasters should have a video. Videos sell, bottom line.

Your GigMasters dates are automatically displayed in your Profile’s Gig Calendar but what about the gigs you book outside of our service? You might as well add those so that your potential clients can see that you are truly in-demand. Plus they might come see you at one of your upcoming gigs to get a feel for your talent. The more the merrier, right?
